All waymarkers are manufactured in house with the option of various substrates and sizes.
The vast majority of our waymarks are produced in either ABS plastic or clear Polycarbonate as we believe, after many years of experience, that these provide maximum durability. All the materials we use are recyclable.
1.5mm thick white ABS is the most popular choice when deciding on our ABS options. Your image is printed directly onto the surface of the material with however many colours are required, before being coated with a clear UV resistant varnish. Whilst this last operation may not be apparent we believe it is essential in prolonging the life of the product.
For footpaths, where yellow is the key colour, yellow ABS is sometimes preferred, this self pigmented material means that UV colour fade is considerably reduced.
Polycarbonate is an optically clear plastic and for waymarkers is supplied in 1mm thickness which gives the discs extra flexibility for fitting to rounded posts. The clear material allows the image to be printed in reverse on the undersurface. This provides two advantages, the image cannot be scratched or defaced and weather degradation is slowed.
We also manufacture these roundels with a clear window which allows them to be used for a variety of different marked routes or variable information. In the example below a self-adhesive decal again printed in reverse, is applied to the clear area on the underside thus being sealed when the disc is positioned.
Of course, these materials can be supplied in a square format or any other shape that you may desire.
Should these not fit your requirements bespoke sizes and materials can be accommodated. Square or rectangular waymarkers can be manufactured for use in various applications.
All can be supplied with fixing holes drilled to suit or, for fixing to a smooth surface, a double sided adhesive can be applied.
An interesting application is the combination of a rectangular prohibition, warning or information sign with a circular cut-out to receive a roundel positioned in the required direction.
